IN THE NIGHTTIME...

By Nina Segal, Directed by Brandon Robinson-Connolly

Nina Segal’s poetic exploration of contemporary parenthood.

A sleep deprived couple that are up in the middle of the night as their newborn baby won’t stop crying. They try to soothe the child with stories, but the stories tell of a wounded and hopeless world outside as their anxieties infiltrate through the nursery’s cracks.

“I didn't know the play and found it moving and compelling; as was evident from the post-show discussion, many others in the audience also found it a hugely valuable prompt for their own reflections on the climate emergency and the role we all need to play as individuals. It was also great to see the way that TRW is supporting a talented local artist early in his directing career – Brandons direction of the reading and facilitation of the discussion was really effective”
